Grant
In December 2022 the Eyrecourt & District Development group received a grant for up to €282,728.92 from the Community Centre Investment Fund. The funding went towards repairing the structure and functionality of our community centre including replacing the leaking asbestos hall roof; replacing the remaining old windows and doors; insulation; new heating system; complete renovation of toilets; new larger kitchen; painting of full building inside and out; repairing water damaged floor, and; improving accessibility into and through the building.
Works began in Autumn 2023 and were completed in Summer of 2024. The group also raised €30,000 to cover match funding as well as costs for a number of additional minor works/items that are required but not covered by the grant.
A second grant of €54,500 was awarded to the group in March 2025 from another round of the Community Centre Investment Fund. This covered solar panels, a wheelchair accessible platform lift onto the stage, acoustic treatment to improve the sound quality, stage lighting and AV equipment and additional kitchen equipment.

Fundraising
A number of fundraisers took place in the community to allow for the redevelopment of the facility, including a cycle, Christmas markets, Stephens Day cycle/walk/run and a vintage Autojumble. These were combined with one main fundraising drive: The "Buy a Leaf" Plaque fundraiser.
Eyrecourt community hall is deeply rooted within the community, and plays an important role in the area - From sports and youth discos to meetings and gatherings. Taking the metaphor of a solid and long-lived oak tree, it is one of the main trees within the community and we, the people, are the leaves which it supports and allows to flourish. We offered the opportunity for people to buy a brass leaf plaque as part of a permanent tree mural which will be in the building for decades to come.
A sincere thanks to all of those who helped out or contributed towards any of those events.
